There was buzzing energy in the multipurpose hall today as our Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration brought the school community together in a vibrant display of culture and joy. Students were absolutely thrilled as they watched their friends and teachers take the stage for lively songs and traditional dances, marking the end of Ramadan with delightful performances. Adding to the festive atmosphere, a beautifully crafted 'kampung' (Malay village) scene served as a stunning backdrop for classes to capture the day with group photos, preserving memories of the celebration. The Primary students were fully engaged in a lively game of “Pass the Ketupat” plushie (ketupat - Malay rice cake), where the music would stop and a student would eagerly answer questions about the special festivities. Meanwhile, the Secondary students demonstrated their knowledge through a digital quiz, scanning a QR code with their devices to participate. The top three winners were met with cheers as they received prizes to share with their respective classes. Our students took part in the Times Table Rock Stars – World Rocks Competition, a 3-day global challenge where they raced against time to answer as many multiplication questions as possible! We are proud to share that our school ranked 14th out of 622 schools worldwide 🌍 — and even more impressively, 3rd internationally among all-through schools! 🏆 Other highlights: Soohyeon Yoon (Year 5) achieved an outstanding ranking of 37th out of 60,672 students. Our classes also performed exceptionally well — Year 5A placed 20th out of 5,632 classes, followed by Year 6A in 38th place and Year 5B in 44th. Our Secondary students held House meetings to celebrate the contributions of our outgoing committee members, whose dedication has greatly enriched our school community. We extend our sincere gratitude to these students for their service. During the meetings, students took part in the democratic process to nominate, vote, and select new committee members for Jupiter, Neptune, Ceres, and Mars. We are pleased to announce that these newly appointed students will officially begin their roles in Term 4 and continue through the next academic year. On 12 March 2026, Year 3 hosted a wonderful Learning Showcase, where students proudly showcased their work and shared their learning with parents through interactive stations. Students demonstrated their understanding of physical and human features by designing their own city maps and researching animals in Asia and Malaysia. In Science, they explored food groups and interesting diets, and learned how muscles and joints work with the skeleton to help our bodies move. Students also guided parents in calculating perimeter in Maths and sharing their rhyming animal poems in Writing. We are incredibly proud of Ng Xi Rui (Year 5 Care) and Ng Xi En (Year 7 Care), who represented Malaysia and delivered outstanding performances at the 56th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships 2026. The event was held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre, 13 - 15 March, bringing together top swimmers from Singapore, China, and across Southeast Asia. On 12th March 2026, our FS1 children enjoyed a fantastic hands-on learning experience, discovering the wonders of marine life. From learning about rays and their gentle nature, to touching starfish and exploring sharks, the day was filled with excitement and curiosity! As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and emergency preparedness, we conducted a whole-school fire drill, a key part of our safety programme designed to ensure both students and staff are well-prepared and confident in our procedures should a real emergency occur. When the fire alarm sounded, everyone responded promptly and calmly, with students quickly lining up outside their classrooms and walking safely with their teachers to the designated evacuation point on the school field. Thanks to their familiarity with the drill, the evacuation was smooth and efficient, allowing attendance to be taken immediately to confirm that every person had evacuated the building safely. In a wonderful display of generosity and house spirit, our Primary students came together to participate in the 'Kilo Kindness - The More You Add, The Less You Lose' challenge. The students enthusiastically donated a variety of food items, including rice, pasta, flour, sugar, and other dried or canned goods, with every kilogram collected contributing valuable points to their respective houses.
