As part of preparing our Year 11–13 students for their university applications, we invited Ms Amalina from the University of East Anglia to conduct a ‘Personal Statement & Interview Preparation Workshop’. She shared valuable insights on crafting impactful personal statements, highlighted the dos and don’ts of university applications, and provided useful tips to help students prepare confidently for interviews. Our Year 11–13 students also attended a stress management workshop titled ‘Are You a Good Stress Handler?’, conducted by Ms Anasakina, a psychology lecturer from the University of Reading Malaysia. The workshop explored common challenges students face in school that may lead to stress and introduced healthy coping strategies through fun and interactive activities that encouraged students to reflect and learn more about themselves. In the final workshop, ‘World-building through Words; a Process Drama Workshop’, students learned about artificial intelligence through an engaging Process Drama session led by Mr Zekun from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), part of the University of the Arts Singapore. Inaugural Ceremony of the Environment Council Today marked the inaugural ceremony of the first Environment Council comprising of Y12 and Y13 students. As part of the Environment Committee, they analysed the Environmental Audit, planned the actions to be taken, monitored and evaluated the environmental programmes and activities, informed and involved the school community and stakeholders in the environmental activities such as encouraging and organising planting at the Open Day this year and endorsed the Eco code that was mooted last year. We were delighted to welcome the team from Invictus Centrium in Singapore to our school. Our admissions team kicked off the visit by giving them a comprehensive tour, offering a glimpse into our dynamic learning environment as we visited bustling classrooms and explored specialised facilities including our Computer, Science, and Fab Labs. Following the tour, our leadership team met with our guests to provide an introduction to our school's vision. The visitors then engaged in focused breakout sessions, where they collaborated with our team to gain deeper insights into our IT, HR, admissions and academic processes, with a particular focus on our use of the iSAMS management information system. On 26 February, our Prefectorial Board hosted another session of “Let It Speak” — our very own version of a TED Talk, encouraging students to step forward and share topics they are passionate about through engaging presentations. In this session, Sarah shared her personal journey in Art — how her passion for creativity began, the challenges she overcame, and how art has shaped her confidence and identity. Jooha spoke about Football, highlighting how the sport influences our lifestyle and strengthens both our body and mindset, showing that football is more than just 90 minutes on the pitch. This marks the second session of Let It Speak. Our very first session featured YChua Yao Feng and Koh Xyuan, who set a wonderful example and inspired others to share their ideas and passions. Kilo Kindness Inter-House Challenge – ‘The more you add, the less you lose’ Our food donation campaign kickstarted on 4 March. All Year 1 and Year 2 classes came together for 'Strong Bodies, Happy Minds!', a lively games rotation assembly anchored in our Term 3 core value, R for Resilience. Through 'Spoon Balance', 'Steady Ball Race' and 'Little Champions', students were challenged to remain focused, stay determined and persevere through each activity. In their colour teams, students displayed resilience, teamwork and positive sportsmanship throughout. The session reinforced that resilience is about consistent effort, courage in the face of difficulty and finishing strong 💫. Our campus was filled with festive joy as students and staff welcomed the Lunar New Year through a variety of exciting activities! From the fun challenge of who could eat a mandarin orange the fastest 🍊 to beautiful traditional wear showcases by Year 4 and Year 9 models, the celebration was full of colour and culture. They explored leadership vs management, motivation, and organisational culture — then put theory into action through the Lego Challenge, building silently to practise communication and teamwork.
