Our Year 10 students spent weeks prepping their arguments before the school holidays, and today they finally took the stage! It was an incredible battle of wits between 10 Care and 10 Joy/Kindness as students tackled a very modern dilemma: 'Should AI be used as a main education tool in schools?' From analysing the future of technology to debating the importance of the traditional classroom, both teams showed incredible critical thinking and public speaking skills. It was inspiring to see our students engage so professionally with such a complex and timely topic. Year 3 and Year 4 students gathered in the multipurpose hall for their assembly, which focused on both physical wellbeing and positive thinking. The session began with a discussion about how staying active not only keeps our bodies healthy, but also helps our minds remain focused and calm. The Year 3 students then took to the stage to lead their peers in an energetic Zumba dance, and the hall quickly filled with music, movement, and laughter as everyone joined in to loosen their muscles and have fun together. Following this, the Year 4 students delivered an engaging presentation on growth mindset, the power of thinking positively and embracing challenges. They performed a short skit illustrating how a mistake in an artwork could be transformed into a masterpiece, reinforcing the message that setbacks can become opportunities for growth. A Date with a Book Our Lower Primary students from Year 1 and Year 2 came together for a special assembly activity, A Date with a Book, celebrating the joy of reading. With books in hand, some enjoyed the sunshine outdoors picnic style, while others cosied up indoors. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“– Each child brought a favourite book or selected one from the school library, making the experience personal and meaningful. Students also completed differentiated book review templates tailored to their level, encouraging thoughtful reflection and building confidence in sharing their ideas. Members of the Parent Support Group, along with a number of other parents came together for a productive and engaging Coffee Morning. The session began with a meeting alongside staff to discuss preparations for the upcoming Family Fiesta on 11th April. Parents were enthusiastic and proactive, sharing ideas and exploring how they could host additional food stalls to enhance the variety and cultural flavour of the event. Following this, the group met with the schoolโ€™s catering vendor to provide constructive feedback on the range and selection of food available during break and lunchtime. Our EY2 Penguin children explored The Three Little Pigs in our Understanding the World lesson through a hands-on STEM craft using air clay, ice cream sticks, and pipe cleaners. They designed and built their own โ€œhouses,โ€ experimenting with different materials to make structures strong and stable. Any leftover materials were then used to create their own imaginative design. Throughout the week, the children also made a Chinese New Year lantern as part of our CNY celebrations.
