From 15โ16 January, our students enjoyed an unforgettable camp experience filled with rafting, survival skills, beach walks, swimming, campfire moments, and even karaoke fun! ๐ถ๐ฅ Led by energetic instructors from Orca Nation, the children built teamwork, confidence, and resilience โ stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. Year 3 to Year 6 students gathered in the multipurpose hall to celebrate the achievements of the Kangaroo Maths Competition winners. Students who registered for this exciting annual mathematics competition were recognised for their hard work and problem-solving skills, with awards presented across several levels of achievement. These included the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, as well as the special Beaver Awards, which celebrate outstanding performance. Our Year 7 and Year 8 English First Language students had a fantastic time at an interactive workshop with Dr Thomas Roebuck from the University of East Anglia, โDo We Still Need Human Storytellers? Storytelling in the Age of AI.โ Dr Thomas showed students how he uses AI to generate different picture and writing prompts, sparking lively discussions about creativity and the future of AI and writing. The school was pleased to welcome police officers from Balai Polis Bukit Indah for an impromptu visit, during which they met with both staff and students. The officers took time to engage with the children, who were delighted to greet them, shake hands, and say hello. Our Invictus English Camp 2026 wrapped up beautifully! At the start of January before Term 3, we had our English Camp where students joined in to take part in a variety of activities. The children enjoyed singing, crafting, exploring shapes and colours, doing scavenger hunts, learning about healthy habits, playing sports and movement games, speaking English confidently, and working together as a team. Their energy, curiosity, and creativity shone through every activity. Through their fairy-tale learning in Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design, the EY2 Penguin class learned to distinguish between real and pretend stories, express their creativity, and use imaginative play while making their own magical wands.
