The UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum fosters learning and development by giving each unique child the opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments.

The first theme of the UK EYFS emphasises that every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured. Teachers are encouraged to take time to understand and observe each child’s development and learning, assess their progress, and plan for next steps.

Next, children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. These relationships are nurtured by teachers who are sensitive and responsive to the child’s needs, feelings, and interests, and who support the child’s own efforts and growing independence.

The final theme in the UK EYFS curriculum is enabling environments. Children learn and develop best in environments that respond to their individual needs, where there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents or carers.

Cambridge Primary Curriculum

Cambridge Primary Curriculum

Cambridge Primary is an international education programme designed for young learners aged 5 to 11 and is widely used in primary schools around the world. It aims to develop learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged. Rooted in the values of the University of Cambridge and informed by best practices in schools, the Cambridge Primary Curriculum offers structured frameworks for English, Mathematics, and Science.

These frameworks guide learners through an active and creative educational journey, with clearly defined progressive learning objectives that outline what students should know or be able to do at each stage of their primary education. The curriculum serves both as a teaching guide and a benchmark for assessing learners’ abilities and understanding. Emphasising an inquiry-based approach, Cambridge Primary encourages the development of critical thinking skills and fosters deep intellectual engagement.

Cambridge Secondary Curriculum

Cambridge Secondary Curriculum

Cambridge Lower Secondary is for learners aged between 11 and 14 years. Through the Cambridge curriculum, we prepare students for the next step of their educational journey, providing a clear path as they progress through the Cambridge Pathway in preparation for the IGCSEs in Upper Secondary.

With a choice of over ten subjects, students receive a broad programme of instruction in academic subjects, as well as those that support and develop creativity, expression and wellbeing.

Invictus Spring Hills employs Cambridge assessments to help accurately measure students’ potential and progress. Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint monitors individual and group performance at the end of the Lower Secondary programme. These external tests are marked by Cambridge International Education and provide valuable feedback that we can share with parents.

Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

The Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification, serving as a strong foundation for further study, particularly for the Cambridge International A-Levels. Typically completed over two years, the IGCSE includes a variety of assessment methods, ranging from written and oral exams to practical tests and coursework. Students can choose from a wide selection of subjects, allowing them to tailor their studies to suit their interests and future goals. Final results are graded on an internationally recognised A* to G scale, with all exam papers centrally marked in the UK. The Cambridge IGCSE offers flexibility, enabling learners to design a course of study that aligns with their career aspirations or plans for higher education.

Cambridge International Advanced Level (A-Levels)

Cambridge International Advanced Level (A-Levels)

The Cambridge International A-Level (Advanced Level) is a subject-based qualification awarded as part of the General Certificate of Education and serves as a high school completion credential offered by established examination boards in the United Kingdom. With more than 55 subject choices available, it is widely regarded as the "Gold Standard" qualification. A-Levels are generally required for university entrance, with universities granting admission offers based on the grades achieved.

Cambridge International A-Levels typically take two years to complete. Students usually begin with three to four A-Level subjects in their first year and often reduce to three in the second year, as university offers are commonly based on three A-Level results. Unlike other Level 3 qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate, A-Levels have no mandatory subject requirements, allowing students the flexibility to choose any combination of subjects. However, students generally select their courses based on the degree they intend to pursue, as most university programs have specific A-Level subject prerequisites.
