Susan Kim Sourthern-George

Assistant Principal

Ms Susan has been an educator for over 20 years, with 16 of those overseas. She was the Director of an International school in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, and Director and Principal of an International and bilingual School in Hangzhou, China. In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she was the Academic Controller of Primary and Kindergarten in a prestigious SABIS® school, and Director of Quality Assurance in a Montessori school. Ms Susan lived and worked in Riyadh for 8 years. In between, she taught Year 4 in Kenya and was the English coordinator. In Johor Bahru, her role as Deputy Head involved working alongside the admissions team, working closely with the teachers, giving guidance and training. Ms Susan has taken the lead in the introduction of new initiatives in behavior management in many schools she has had the privilege to work in, resulting in a change from negative to positive behavior for children who found themselves facing difficulties.

Education for All seems a cliché these days, but for her, it remains strong in her heart. All children should be given every opportunity to explore our world and make contributions as soon as they are able … ! We can learn a lot from them. We just need to listen!

Life is never dull when her lives and works overseas, and her passion for all things great and small leads her to travel far and wide, taking photographs and writing stories. Ms Susan hopes her journey continues for many more years to come!
